Monument for Nicolaus Copernicus in Frankfurt an der Oder (Germany)

Quasi im Schatten der St. Marienkirche steht am westlichen Ende der Bischofspromenade ein Denkmal, das an Nikolaus Kopernikus erinnert. Es gibt allerdings nichts, was explizit auf N. Kopernikus hinweist, außer die typische Frisur, die auch bei den Denkmälern in Allenstein, Frauenburg, Krakau und Thorn charakteristisch ist, und das Modell, das die dargestellte Person in der Hand hält und das als Sonne/Planet-Modell gedeutet werden kann.

Close to the church Saint Mary at the western end of the park called Bischofspromenade there is a monument, which comemmorates to Nicolaus Copernicus. But there is almost no explicit hint on Nicolaus Copernicus except the characteristic hair-style (cf. the monuments in Fromborg, Kraków, Olstijn, and Torun) as well as the model in his hand, which appears as a sun/planet model.
