Die oben abgebildeten Fenster sind im ersten Obergeschoss des Treppenhauses zur Aula im Hauptgebäude der Humboldt-Universität zu finden. Sie sind das Werk mit der Bezeichnung Die Wissenschaft erobern von Walter Womacka¹⁾ aus den Jahren 1962/63. Das rechte Fenster zeigt rechts in mittlerer Höhe ein Porträt von Nikolaus Kopernikus und weiter oben Porträts von Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz und Isaac Newton. Auf dieser Seite weiter unten sind diese Porträts vergrößert wiedergegeben.

Die Fotos wurden im Juni 2013 aufgenommen.

¹⁾ In der virtuellen Ausstellung Zeugnisse zu Mathematikern sind verschiedentlich Werke von W. Womacka abgebildet. So das ebenfalls im Hauptgebäude der Humboldt Universität aufgehängte Porträt von Kurt Schröder, das Mosaik am Haus des Lehrers und das Mosaik am früheren DDR-Bauministerium. (Zurück zum Bezug)

   

The windows shown on the top of this page can be found on the upper floor of the staircase to the Auditorium Maximum in the Humboldt University's main building. They have been created by the artist Walter Womacka¹⁾ in 1962/63. The right window shows in the mid of the right edge a portrait of Nicolaus Copernicus and further above portraits of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and Isaac Newton. Less above the mentioned portraits are provided in more detail.

The photographs were taken in June 2013.

¹⁾ The virtual exhibition Monuments on Mathematicians shows several art works of W. Womacka. Namely the portrait of Kurt Schröder which is presented in the same building, the mosaic at the building Haus des Lehrers and the mosaic at a former ministry of the German Democratic Republic.
