Busts of Peter Apian, Emmy Noether, Georg Simon Ohm and Arnold Sommerfeld in the Hall of Fame in Munich (Germany)

Die Ruhmeshalle ist an der westlichen Seite der Theresienwiese in der Erscheinungsform der Vorderfront des Pergamonaltars mit dorischen Säulen erbaut worden. Baumeister war Leo von Klenze, der auch die Walhalla bauen ließ. Die Ruhmeshalle kann von April bis Mitte Oktober besucht werden.

Eine vollständige Aufzählung aller in der Ruhmeshalle gewürdigten Personen ist der Seite hinter obigem Verweis nachzulesen. Die Auswahl in der Überschrift weist die Personen aus, die sich um die Mathematik verdient gemacht haben, als da wären: Peter Apian (Gelehrter), Emmy Noether (Mathematikerin), Georg Simon Ohm (Gelehrter) und Arnold Sommerfeld (Physiker). Die in Klammern angegebenen Berufsbezeichnungen sind jeweils unter den Namen der Personen ebenfalls in die Frontseite der Sockel eingraviert. Es wäre da noch nachzutragen, dass Albrecht Dürer auf einer Marmortafel erwähnt wird.

Nachstehende Aufnahme soll einen Gesamteindruck vermitteln. Sie zeigt neben der Ruhmeshalle auch das davor stehende und somit in das Ensemble integrierte Standbild der Bavaria.

Die Büsten wurden im Oktober 2008 und im Juni 2009 (E. Noether) von Dr. Heinfrid Wolfsgruber aufgenommen, das Foto der Gesamtansicht entstand im März 2008.

The Hall of Fame (the official German name of this building is Ruhmeshalle) is built like the frontside of the Pergamon Altar with columns equipped with Doric capitals at the western edge of the Theresienwiese. The architect was Leo von Klenze who also planned the Walhalla.

The Hall of Fame may be visited from April to the mid of October.

The selection provided by the title are those who contributed to mathematics: Peter Apian (savant), Emmy Noether (mathematician), Georg Simon Ohm (savant), and Arnold Sommerfeld (physicist). The German variants of the professions given here in parentheses are also engraved in the front sides of the bases below the names of the personages. Finally it should be noted that Albrecht Dürer is mentioned on a marble plaque.
