Denkmal für Albertus Magnus in Köln (Deutschland) /
Monument for Albertus Magnus in Cologne (Germany)

Vor dem Hauptgebäude der Universität am Albertus-Magnus-Platz ist Albertus Magnus ein (modernes) Denkmal gewidmet. Auf der Frontseite des Sockels ist der Name wiedergegeben. Dies ist allerdings auf dem Bild nicht zu erkennen, da mit der Sonne im Rücken fotografiert wurde und so die Inschrift keinen Schatten wirft. Auf der rechten Seite ist eine kleine Metalltafel mit folgenden Angaben eingelassen:

In Köln gibt es noch ein weiteres Denkmal vom Heiligen Albertus Magnus sowie sein Sarkophag in der Kirche St. Andreas.

In front of the main building of the university at the Albertus-Magnus-Platz there is a rather modern monument honouring Albertus Magnus. His name is engraved on the front side of the base. But this is not visible on the picture because the photograph was taken with the sun in the back. Hence the shadows forced by the inscription cannot be seen. On the right of the base there is a small metal tablet showing the following information:

In Cologne there is still another statue of Saint Albertus Magnus as well as his sacophagus in the church St. Andreas.
