Gravestone for Kurt Wedel in Potsdam (Germany)

Auf dem Alten Friedhof von Potsdam befindet sich auch das Urnengrab des Professors für Physik Kurt Wedel. (Auf dem gleichen Friedhof befinden sich auch der Grabstein für Friedrich Robert Helmert und das Grab des Mathematikers Erhard Schmidt). Die Grabplatte ist als aufgeschlagenes Buch gestaltet. Auffallendes Merkmal ist neben dem Namen, dem Geburts- wie auch das Todesjahr die Integralformel für die Gamma-Funktion.

On the Old cemetery of Potsdam there also the grave of the professor for physics Kurt Wedel. On the same cemetery there is also the gravestone for Friedrich Robert Helmert and the grave of the mathematician Erhard Schmidt. The gravestone is shaped like a book. It shows the name, the years of birth and death but surprisingly also the integral formula for the Gamma function.
