Bust of Vilhelm Bjerknes in Oslo-Blindern (Norway)

In der Eingangshalle des Vilhelm-Bjerknes-Gebäudes auf dem Campus der Universität von Oslo ist vor der gegenüberliegenden Wand zum Eingangsportal die oben abgebildete Büste von Vilhelm Bjerknes aufgestellt.

Der Text auf der Messingtafel am Sockel benennt Titel, Name und das Geburts- wie auch das Sterbejahr:

V. Bjerknes arbeitete unter anderem an mathematischen Methoden zur Wettervorhersage.

Es sei darauf hingewiesen, dass sich in unmittelbarer Nähe ein Sitzbild zu N. H. Abel und eine Büste von S. Lie befinden; weitere Hinweise und einen Überblick findet man hier.

In the entrance-lounge of the Vilhelm Bjerknes building at the campus of the University of Oslo just before the opposite wall there is a bust of Vilhelm Bjerknes, which is shown above. The text on the brass plaque at the base is given in the German section above, there is no need of any translation. It denotes the titles, the name as well as the years of birth and death.

V. Bjerknes worked beside other topics on mathematical methods for weather forecasting.

It should be mentioned that close to this bust on the campus of the University of Oslo there is a statue for N. H. Abel and a bust of S. Lie. More details as well as an overview may be found here.
