Bust of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in Hanover

Die Büste von Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz steht heute in der Empfangshalle der Technologie Centrum Hannover GmbH, Vahrenwalder Straße 7, D-30165 Hannover. Es handelt sich um die Büste, die ursprünglich zum Leibniz-Tempel im Georgengarten gehörte. (Sie musste wegen wiederholter Verunstaltung in Sicherheit gebracht werden.)

Diese Marmorbüste von G. W. Leibniz wurde in den Jahren 1787 - 1790 von dem irischen Bildhauer Christopher Hewetson geschaffen.

Das Foto der Büste wurde im Mai 2005 von Hans A. Pohlsander¹⁾ aufgenommen. Auch die wiedergegebenen Informationen wurden von ihm recherchiert und wie auch das Literaturverzeichnis am Ende dieser Seite zusammengestellt.

Nowadays the bust of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz is located in the reception hall of the Technologie Centrum Hannover GmbH (Address: Vahrenwalder Straße 7, D-30165 Hanover). This bust was originally situated in the Leibniz Temple, but was recently removed to a safe location after it had repeatedly been disfigured.

This marble bust of G. W. Leibniz was created by the Irish sculptor Christopher Hewetson in the years 1787 - 1790.

The photograph was taken in May 2005 by Hans A. Pohlsander¹⁾. All the information as well as the references to the literature were also provided by him.
