Commemorating plaque for George Boole in Lincoln (England)

Am Haus mit der Adresse No 3, Pottergate in dem mittelenglischen Städtchen Lincoln (Lincolnshire) ist eine Gedenktafel angebracht, mit der George Boole geehrt wird. Lincoln liegt östlich von Sheffield etwa auf halber Strecke zur Ostküste. Der in englischer Sprache verfasste Text der Gedentafel kann wie folgt ins Deutsche übersetzt werden:

Hierbei bedeuten LL. D. (legum doctor, Doctor of Laws) Doktor des Rechts, D.C.L. (Doctor of Civil Laws) Doktor des Zivilrechts und F.R.S. (Fellow of the Royal Society) Mitglied der Königlichen Gesellschaft. Die Royal Society gilt als Akademie der Wissenschaften im Vereinigten Königreich. Das auf der Gedenktafel abgebildete Emblem ist das der lokalen Organisation, die sich auch für Denkmalschutz einsetzt (Lincoln Civic Trust).

At the frontside of the house located at address No 3, Pottergate in the city of Lincoln (Lincolnshire) there is a plaque commemorating to George Boole. Its text reads as:

The abbreviations have the following meanings: LL. D. (legum doctor) Doctor of Laws, D.C.L. Doctor of Civil Laws, and F.R.S. Fellow of the Royal Society. The emblem shown on the upper left corner of the plaque is the one of the Lincoln Civic Trust.
