An der Südseite des Gebäudes in der Großen Märkerstraße - zum Platz Kleiner Berlin hin - ist eine Gedenktafel angebracht, auf der unter anderem Christian Wolff erwähnt wird.

Der Text auf der Tafel lautet wie folgt:

An der Hausfront nach Westen ist zudem eine Inschrift in lateinischer Sprache zu erkennen, die folgendes besagt (vergleiche die zwischen deutschem und englischem Text wiedergegebene Aufnahme):

Dabei ist der Nachname mit nur einem "F" latinisiert. Dies verwundert, denn dann könnte locker aus dem Namen Wolf die lateinische Bezeichnung LUPUS werden; vielleicht stört hierbei der völlig unrömische Vorname. Darüber hinaus ist neben dem Eingang zum Gebäude eine Metalltafel mit folgendem Wortlaut angebracht:

In der Umgebung des Christian-Wolff-Hauses sind eine Reihe von gleichstrukturierten Tafeln an weiteren Gebäuden angebracht, die auf prominente Bewohner hinweisen.

The text may be translated to English as follows:

To the West there is an inscription in Latin (see the second picture on this page) which reads like:

It's a little bit surprising that the Latin variant of the surname is written with only one letter "F". On what follows that the surname could be latinized by LUPUS.

Moreover beside the entrance of the entrance there is a metal plaque mentioning that the building hosts the municipal museum (Stadtmuseum) and that the building is named Christian Wolff house.
