Etwas versteckt hinter dem Wartehäuschen zu einer Bushaltestelle an der nordwestlichen
Ecke der Straßenkreuzung Sophienstraße / Jakobstraße in
Eisenach befindet sich die oben abgebildete
Gedenktafel, welche die Stelle kennzeichnet, an der das Geburtshaus von
Ernst
Abbe
stand.
Die Tafel ist recht schlicht gehalten, sie zeigt den Text:

in the city of Eisenach a plaque marks the location
of the birthplace of

Abbe. The plaque itself is somewhat hidden behind the waiting hall associated to a
