Im Eingangsbereich des Instituts für Mathematik der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg wird der Mathematiker und Astronom Johannes Müller (genannt Regiomontanus) mit einem Glasmosaik gewürdigt. Regiomontanus ist die latinisierte Form seines Geburtsorts Königsberg - in Franken gelegen - und wird als Pseudonym für J. Müller verwendet.

Das Glasbild zeigt Regiomontanus ein Astrolabium in der linken Hand haltend. In der rechten unteren Ecke dieser Glasmalerei findet sich nachstehender Text:

Eine Tafel über einem Schaukasten (vergleiche den fotografischen Ausschnitt am Ende dieser Seite) stellt - abgesehen vom Geburtsort - im Wesentlichen die gleichen Informationen bereit.

Zur Künstlerin Sela Bail (1921 - 2001) gibt es im Internet nur unzureichend Informationen.

In the entrance lounge of the institute for mathematics of the Julius-Maximilians University at Würzburg the mathematician and astronomer Johannes Müller (called Regiomontanus) is honoured by means of a glasspainting showing him holding an astrolab in his left hand. Regiomontanus is the Latinized variant of his place of birth Königsberg in Franconia and is used as his pseudonym.

The lower tile on the right of the glasspainting shows some text which reads like:

A tablet set above an information board (see the picture at the end of this page) provides almost the same information, except that the place of birth is also mentioned.

Almost no information can be found in the internet on the artist Sela Bail (1921 - 2001).
