deutsch Das Seefahrerdenkmal (Padrão dos Descobrimentos) an der Nordküste des Tejo in Lissabon enthält auch eine Statue von Pedro Nunes mit einem Globus und Zirkel in den Händen, dem ersten Lehrstuhlinhaber für Mathematik an der Universität von Lissabon und später in Coimbra. Dieses Denkmal wurde im Jahre 1960 anlässlich des 500. Todestags von Heinrich des Seefahrers (Enrique el navigador) enthüllt (vgl. hier).

english A statue showing Pedro Nunes is part of the monument to the discoveries (Padrão dos Descobrimentos) at the Northern shore of the river Tejo in Lisbon. Pedro Nunes, the one with a globe and compasses in his hands, was the first professor for mathematics in Lisbon and later in Coimbra. The monument was unveiled in 1960 due to the 500th anniversary of the date of death of Henry the sailor (Enrique el navigador) (cf. here).
