Das oben im Bild wiedergegebene Denkmal von
Adam Ries
steht unmittelbar vor der Trinitatiskirche in
Annaberg-Buchholz (Ortsteil Annaberg) im
Erzgebirge. Adam Ries lebte von etwa 1523 bis zu seinem Tode im Jahre 1559 und leitete in
Annaberg eine Rechenschule. Diese Rechenschule war im Haus von Adam Ries in der
Johannisgasse untergebracht, das heute das
Adam-Ries-Museum beherbergt.
Die Aufnahme entstand im Mai 2003.

The monument on
Adam Ries shown above is placed in front of the Trinitatis church in Annaberg as a part of
Annaberg-Buchholz. Adam Ries lived there
from approximately 1523 to his death in 1559 and managed a school for arithmetics in
Annaberg. This school was placed in the house of Adam Ries in the street called
Johannisgasse.
Nowadays this house contains the Adam-Ries-Museum.
