An der Stelle, wo in Brüssel die Straße Rue Joseph Plateau (das
Straßenschild ist am Ende dieser Seite abgebildet) in die Straße Rue
Mertens mündet, befindet sich das Denkmal "100 Jahre - 100 Produzenten -
100 Filme". Im obigen Bild ist am linken Rand eine Bodenplatte zu erkennen, die weiter
unten abgebildet ist und zweisprachig einen Text wiedergibt, mit dem auch

Antoine Ferdinand Plateau gewürdigt wird:

J. Plateau hat erkannt, dass periodisch bewegende Objekte unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen statische Bilder in der Wahrnehmung erzeugen.
Die Fotos wurden im Februar 2009 aufgenommen.
At the junction of the streets Rue Melsens and Joseph Plateau Straat the
memorial "100 years - 100 directors - 100 films" is erected. Near the left border
of the most upper photograph one may recognize a plaque on the ground, which is shown above

J. Plateau observed that periodically moving objects create static images under certain circumstances.
