Johann III Bernoulli lag auf dem Friedhof der evangelischen St. Laurentius-Stadtkirchengemeindein in Berlin-Köpenick begraben. Das Grab selbst scheint nicht mehr vorhanden zu sein, doch ist das Kreuz, mit Namen und Lebensdaten von ihm und seiner Frau erhalten geblieben. Die Rückseite des Grabkreuzes ziert einen Bezug auf die Bibel (siehe unten rechts).

Die Verwendung der römischen Zahl III hinter dem Vornamen hat damit zu tun, dass es eine ganze Gelehrten-Dynastie der Bernoullis gab und die Vornamen Jakob, Johann und Niklaus mehrfach vorkommen.

Die Fotographien wurden am Reformationstag 2004 aufgenommen.

Johann III Bernoulli was buried on the cemetery of the St. Laurentius Church in Berlin-Köpenick. It seems that the grave is not longer existant but the metallic cross with the names and the dates of him and his wife is still there.

In the 17th and 18th century several members of the Bernoulli family form some kind of dynasty of savants in Basel (Switzerland). In occasion that the first names Jakob, Johann, and Niklaus have traditionally been used more frequently they are distinguished by consecutive roman numbers.
