Christentum-Säule (Christianity column) in Brunswick (Germany)

Auf dem Ruhfäutchenplatz hinter der Burg wurde im Jahre 2006 die Christentum-Säule an die Bürger der Stadt übergeben. (Der Künstler ist Prof. Jürgen Weber [1928 - 2007] aus Braunschweig.) Neben allen möglichen biblischen Szenen aber auch solchen aus der jüngeren Geschichte ist auch die Entdeckung des heliozentrischen Systems durch Nikolaus Kopernikus berücksichtigt. Eine in der Nähe aufgestellte Informationstafel gibt Hinweise auf die einzelnen Details.

On the Ruhfäutchenplatz behind the castle in the center of Brunswick the Christentum-Säule was erected in 2006. The artist is Prof. Jürgen Weber (1928 - 2007) from Brunswick. Beside all the scriptural scenes but also those from the recent history like the discovery of the heliocentric system by Nicolaus Copernicus are also considered. Details of the column are explained on an information board nearby.
