Bust of Mileva Marić-Einstein in Novi Sad (Serbia)

Mit einer Büste vor dem Mathematischen Institut der Universität von Novi Sad wird an die Mathematikerin, Physikerin und ersten Ehefrau von Albert Einstein Mileva Marić-Einstein erinnert. Mileva Marić (so ihr Mädchenname) wurde in Titel (etwa 40 km östlich von Novi Sad gelegen) geboren und besuchte in Novi Sad die Mädchenschule. Die Inschrift auf dem Sockel benennt ihren Namen in der in Serbien verwendeten kyrillischen Schrift sowie ihr Geburts- und das Todesjahr:

Die Büste ist in der Nähe der nordwestlichen Ecke des mathematischen Instituts der Universität von Novi Sad an der Straßenkreuzung Dr. Ilije Djuricica (Др. Илије Ђуричића) / Vladimira Perica Valtera (Владимира Перића - Валтера) errichtet.

There is a bust in front of the mathematical institute of the University of Novi Sad commemorating to the mathematician, physicist, and first wife of Albert Einstein Mileva Marić-Einstein. Mileva Marić (its her maiden name) was born in the town Titel (approximately 40 km to the East from Novi Sad) and visited the high school for girls in Novi Sad. The inscription on the front side of the base mentions her name in cyrillics and the years of birth and death (cf. the German text above). The bust is located at the northwestern corner of the mathematical institute at the junction of the streets Dr. Ilije Djuricica (Др. Илије Ђуричића) / Vladimira Perica Valtera (Владимира Перића - Валтера).
